Check out this "Job Search Tips for High School Students" article to learn more about how to find a job and various options for high school students. Students interested in finding a part-time job are welcome to meet with Ms. Yates for help with applications and resumes.

Internship and Leadership Opportunities:

Aquacycl – Research and Development Intern: Aquacycl’s mission is to provide sanitation and water for all. They develop BioElectrochemical Treatment Technology (BETT) for use in packaged wastewater treatment plants that can treat industrial, agricultural and residential/municipal wastewater. To apply: Students should send their resume and a 3-4 sentence introductory statement about their academic/career goal(s), including why they are specifically interested in working at Aquacycl for the summer, to Sofia Babanova at sbabanova@aquacycl.com with subject heading “Aquacycl internship.” See attached flyer for more details.

Benchmark Labs – Software Engineering Intern: Benchmark Labs works to improve weather forecasts for the agricultural and energy sectors around the globe by using publicly available datasets, information from IoT sensors, and novel machine learning techniques. To apply: Students should email their resume and a brief paragraph explaining why they would like to participate in this opportunity to info@benchmarklabs.com, using “Software Engineering Internship” in the title of the email. Summer Opportunities:

Introduction to Research Science and Communication Virtual ProgramThe goal of this program, sponsored by the Salk Institute is to train students in professional science communication skills that will make them better candidates for future careers in science. Program elements will include scientific readings, data analysis, science presentation delivery, and virtual lab simulations. To Apply: Students that would like to be considered for the program must opt-in by completing the Google form here by June 5th.

Student TECH summer camps at UC San Diego: Students in grades 5-12 can choose from beginning programming, Star Wars and Minecraft themed coding, robotics with Legos and Raspberry Pi challenges, drone technology, web development and our new project focused UCSD High School Computer Science Master Class series for high school students. Various weekly programs offered from June 15th - August 7th.

emERge Medical Conference for Teens: Friday, June 26th at UC San Diego. This hands on conference allows participants to rotate through hands-on simulations, engaging faculty discussions all within a mentorship-based approach. 

Study Abroad Opportunities:

Asse International Student Exchange Programs: Asse programs allow students to study abroad in another country during high school. The programs intend to foster international understanding through educational and cross cultural programs. Please refer to the ASSE website for countries, opportunities, and deadlines.
