Current Job and Internship Opportunities

Work experience is a great way to learn more about your interests, make money, enhance your resume, and much more. Check out this "Job Search Tips for High School Students" article to learn more about how to find a job and various options for high school students. Students interested in finding a part-time job are welcome to meet with Ms. Yates for help with applications and resumes.

Internship and Leadership Opportunities:

Bank of America Student Leaders Internship Opportunity: This program connects qualifying high school juniors and seniors with paid summer internships that have a focus on serving the community. In addition to an eight-week internship working with a local nonprofit, each student will attend the Student Leaders Summit in July 2020 in Washington, D.C., with travel expenses paid by the program. Applications are due Jan. 31st.

UCSD Society of Women Engineers Envision Conference: This free all-day conference held at UC San Diego on Saturday, Feb. 8th, is aimed at educating high school girls about career possibilities in engineering and computer science. The program includes speakers from industry and academia, hands-on computer science and engineering activities, lab tours, and a project team fair at the UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering. There will also be a short, half-day program for parents to help answer their questions about college that is also free and separate from the student program. See the flyer for more information.

Summer Opportunities:

University of Pittsburgh Health Career Scholars Academy (June 28th - July 25th): This program allows for a hands-on campus experience for students and provides insight into the future study of medicine. Applications are due Feb. 19th.

Iacocca Global Entrepreneurship Intensive at Lehigh University (June 28th - July 25th): This program, intended for high school sophomores and juniors from all over the world to learn about entrepreneurship, globalization, team building, project management, leadership and working within a culturally diverse environment. Applications are due Feb. 19th.

emERge Medical Conference for TeensFriday, June 26th at UC San Diego. This hands on conference allows participants to rotate through hands-on simulations, engaging faculty discussions all within a mentorship-based approach. 

Study Abroad Opportunities:

Asse International Student Exchange Programs: Asse programs allow students to study abroad in another country during high school. The programs intend to foster international understanding through educational and cross cultural programs. Please refer to the ASSE website for countries, opportunities, and deadlines. 

Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program: Study abroad for a year in high school in Germany. The program is administered through Asse International Exchange programs. Scholarships are available! Applications are due Dec. 3rd.
